Repeated asterisk symbols (*) appear in the LOG application

Symptom:

Entries in the Cryptshare Log database show repeated asterisk (*) symbols in log texts.

Cause:

The issue may occur if you are using a proxy server in the connection between your Domino Server and the Cryptshare Server and the proxy server connection requires a password. For security reasons, the proxy password is replaced by asterisk symbols in all logged output from the console. However, if the a string elsewhere in the log is identical with the proxy password, this string will also be replaced by asterisks.

Solution:

Use a proxy password which is long and complex enough so that it is unlikely that it matches any string which may appear in the log data.
